through Big Platte Lake and Brown, Rainbow and Brook Trout are
plentiful. Pick Morel Mushrooms in the countless acres of nearby
State Forest or Sleeping Bear Dunes Park area.
Summer
Summer offers a wide variety of activities. Play
in the 2500 acres of Big Platte Lake. You can swim, sail, water ski,
take a canoe trip down the Platte River to scenic Lake Michigan, or
bask in the sun.
Spend time on the beaches of Lake Michigan. You
won’t find high rise buildings along the shores of the National
Park.
Instead, you'll enjoy the sand of the dunes, the sound of the waves and sea gulls, and you’ll take
in the awesome views of Sleeping Bear Dunes and the Manitou Islands.

nearby to enjoy. During your stay at Platte Lake Resort 2, you’ll
certainly want to visit Sleeping Bear
Dunes and take in a sunset or two at the shores of Lake Michigan.

minutes away. Plan an evening enjoying a famous musician. The new
Betsie Valley Trail now
extends from Frankfort to Thompsonville. If you’re a biking
